Heat Treatment

Heat treatment is the general term for the metallurgical processes applied to improve properties such as hardness and strength in metals. The most critical element of the process is bringing the metal to the correct phase at the correct temperature. To be confident in the quality of the final product, process conditions must be very closely controlled and documented.

For this purpose AMS2750 defines the standardised pyrometry requirements for the heat treatment of products in the aerospace industry. To hold internationally recognised NADCAP accreditation, this calibration process must be closely followed, applied and certified.
